Session 1

Time Session Details
October 19 - 20 LIFT Introduction & Design Thinking Explore the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals together through the lens of economics, policy, and entrepreneurship. Use design thinking and various research methodologies to map the landscape of problems, solutions, and gaps related to a community challenge. Form project teams and team contract.

Mentorship Session

Time Session Details
1-2 hours, October Project Design & Team Guidance Participants are matched with mentors in teams to receive guidance and support in designing their project. Mentors include current student and alumni of top universities including Yale, Columbia, UC Berkeley and others. Teams meet in person or via online call.

Session 2

Time Session Details
November 16 Site Visits Go on site visits with community organization leaders and entrepreneurs to learn about real world approaches to solving problems. Gain an in-depth view of how an organization works and deep dive into the process for innovation.

Mentorship Session

Time Session Details
1-2 hours, November Project Development Under the guidance of their mentor, participants synthesize their research findings and scrutinize the concept of their project, as well as perfect the project plan with regard to its social value, feasibility and innovation.

Session 3

Time Session Details
December 14-15 Workshop & Final Presentation Build capacity as a young leader through a series of workshops focusing on communication, problem solving, creativity, and presentation skills. Present research and project design to a board of judges on December 15 to get feedback.
