Model Foundation Bootcamp

Model Foundation – Bootcamp is a 4-day experiential program on social innovation combining hands-on learning with expert instruction, challenging students to think critically and act as leaders, while developing skills in public speaking, crowdfunding and evaluation. With topics including social entrepreneurship, venture philanthropy, and making a pitch, this program gives students the tools to discover their potential as emerging change-makers.


How it Works

  • Build an international network

    Join a 4-day philanthropy simulation program conducted in English, featuring mentors, workshops, and networking with young international leaders.

  • Engage with Solutions

    Participants gain an understanding of social issues, hear directly from social entrepreneurs, and learn a framework for evaluating an organization’s impact and sustainability. Through hands-on projects, students hear from social entrepreneurs and develop their own solutions to support impactful social ventures.

  • Develop and Apply Skills

    Participants learn to communicate effectively through a unique, experiential curriculum, developing and practicing communication skills by making an investment pitch, designing a crowdfunding campaign, and investing in real social ventures.


Model Foundation Bootcamp

  • Maximize Communication Skills

    Deliberations, personal reflections, and pitching are all built into the curriculum to help students organize their ideas and improve communication skills. Students will learn how to develop an investment pitch, improving their ability to speak publically with the support of experienced mentors, and giving them an opportunity to deliver an English investment pitch with confidence.

  • Think Creatively

    Hands-on projects in venture philanthropy and crowdfunding hone students’ ability to think critically and collaboratively to find innovative solutions to social issues.

  • International Perspective

    Participants examine and discuss solutions to real-world social issues facing the world today, gain an international perspective on social issues via a world-class philanthropy curriculum , and interact with university students at top international schools.

  • Social Impact Certificate

    Earn a certificate recognizing your social impact skills and commitment to community engagement. Participants will deliver an investment pitch and create a crowdfunding campaign, showcasing their communication skills.

  • Aug 9

    9:30AM - 5:00PM

    Learn a professional due diligence framework for evaluating social organizations and reflect on personal goals and values.

  • Aug 10

    9:30AM - 5:00PM

    Receive coaching from professional mentors on crafting a winning pitch for an enterprise and deliver and refine your killer pitch with peers and mentors. Simulate an investment committee, decide how to award a real fund to 3 social organizations and hone skills in negotiation, critical thinking and public speaking.

  • Aug 11 & 13

    9:30AM - 5:00PM

    Design a creative crowdfunding campaign for a social cause and learn to apply design thinking skills, stakeholder mapping and storytelling. Synthesize learnings and present investment pitch to mentors, professionals, and parents. Attend an Innovation for Impact Summit, featuring 10+ High-level speakers from the business, philanthropy, and government sectors.
